What I Do

I have been contracting services to the NZ corporate and government sectors for over 15 years. I have gained skills in everything from raw java development to EIS, using most of the common technologies in the java/unix world.

I contribute to open source projects, and created the Freeboard project, and am a core participant in SignalK.

My software development is focused on Java and related technologies, mostly in web-enabled systems, often using sophisticated enterprise integration of various kinds. I also have a solid track record in solving the difficult problems that occur across such systems.

I make extensive use of Linux and Open Source Software, and have considerable experience in deploying and managing such environments. The Freeboard and Signal K projects (linked above) are my contribution back to open source.
